That hits really close to home as the school they based the book/movie and subsequent TV show on (Odessa Permian) was one of our biggest rivals growing up. Of course, they beat the tar out of us all the time. I only remember beating them once, when I was a Junior. We made it to the state playoffs that year only to be beaten by a team from Wichita Falls with a gimmicky wishbone offense...not that I'm bitter.
