As a refresher for the out of towners this running experiment came about after a bet. A friendly marital wager if you will. In the wake of comforter discomfort I blurted out something like “I would run 10 miles non stop for a that set of sheets and comforter from the Marriott”.
In a weakened state Melissa, my wife, agreed. She returned with “okay..run 10 miles non stop and we’ll buy the $400.00 bedding from the Marriott.”
Seizing upon the opportunity I added, the bedding and a Jeep Wrangler.
She agreed. A week later I started running. October 10 is the day of my 10 mile run. I’ll let you know what happens. Since that time a 99 Mercedez Benz C230 has caught my eye, the jeep may be on hold. The running is not. Read more below the fold for an update of my progress.
During the week of Aug 11, an easy 2 miler, a five miler at 56 minutes, a 6 miler at an 11:40 pace.
During the week of Aug 18, an easy two miler, a 4.5 miler, had to cut it short due to cramps from a late dinner before running, then a 7 miler at a 12:09 over all pace.
This week has been a 2 miler, tonight is a 6 miler, then a 2 miler and another 7 miler on Sunday night. I like the evening runs. 5, 6 and 7 milers seem pretty okay now. A bit nervous about the 8 miler next week.
Have lost about 10 pounds and gained a lot of muscle. I am running tonight with Ebears waist pack to carry fluids. Someone stole my water bottle on the ill fated 4.5 mile night. Was looking forward to my Gatorade G2 at mile three and it had been absconded by a thirsty squirrel. No person would have taken my drink I am sure.
How about that for an update. Hey Joe..aloha man..I have some wing sauce coming to you soon. Will be in touch.
Posting will be scarce for a while as I start a new job next week. May blog about that later.

OG - Thanks for the update! Wing Sauce?! Dude - that’s awesome…can’t wait!
BTW…I thought it was a 1/2 marathon - not 10 miles?
