About Me

Welcome to my website. This is a place for me to keep up with friends and family. Born and raised on the wrong side of the tracks in northern Warren County I graduated from Lebanon High School. I graduated from Murray State University with a major in Parks and Recreation Management. My degree at MSU was completed with a certificate and minor in Non Profit Business Administration. While at Murray State I served as president of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, American Humanics Student Organization and Vice President of MSU’s InterFraternity Council.me
After graduation I worked for the Columbus YMCA, then moved to Baton Rouge in 1996. While in Baton Rouge I worked as an assistant area supervisor for the East Baton Rouge Parks Commission. My wife graduated from LSU and we moved to Florida where she served on active duty in the Air Force as a Civil Engineer. While in Florida I worked as a substitute teacher, YMCA program supervisor and Child Safety Investigator with the Department of Children and Families.

We returned to Ohio in August of 2000. I began work for Montgomery County Public Works in Parks and Recreation. With one child at home I began graduate school. In 2003 I finished graduate work at the University of Dayton and had my MPA in one hand and our second son in the other.

2003 also took me to a new position professionally with the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. I remained there until 2006. A brief stint in politics left me with a third place finish in a race for two seats in the 2005 elections for Kettering Council.

From 2006 – 2008 I served the Montgomery County Board of Elections as a Registration Supervisor. I also worked for the Ohio GOP as a County Coordinator in 2006. Beginning in the spring of 2007 my spare time was spent managing the Campaign of Peggy Lehner for Ohio’s House. I was fortunate to advise and volunteer for other campaigns throughout Montgomery County. After 15 months with the not for profit, Kids Voting, I was asked to lead the Dayton Chapter of A Kid Again.

I now work for A Kid Again serving children who suffer from life threatening illnesses by helping them be A Kid Again.

Besides long walks on the beach, needlepoint and taking photos of baby kittens, I spend time with my two sons, ages 8 and 9. One is a Cub Scout the other is a Brown Belt Karate student. We enjoy bike riding, hanging at the flea market, walking the dog, camping and sports. I am married to the former Melissa Graler of Lebanon, she is a full time homemaker, marathon runner, referee, cook, and taxi cab driver for two boys. We have been married for 13 years and are proud to call Kettering our home since 2001.
