Camping Trip 2008

Father/ Child(ren) Fall Camping Trip

  • When: October 24, 25 and 26th. That’s three days and two nights.
  • Where: Yellow Springs, John Bryan State Park. (Sorry Eric, its tradition)
  • Why: Why not. The weather will be perfect for hiking, sitting around the campfire and general camping stuff.
  • Who: Dads and kids. If you dont have a kid, we can loan you one or two for the weekend.
  • Who else: Forward this to your friends, churched, unchurched, dont invite the trouble makers. Just the nice guys who like to hang out with other guys and their kids in the out of doors.
  • Why again: Because the Suddith boys are going, they go every year and they invite their friends and their friend’s friends. This will be a good break from the real world, no politics, no bank closures, no power, just stars, friends and falling leaves. And an occasional raccoon looking for snacks.

Map to the location here.

John Bryan the park information here.

Since you asked:

In 1896, John Bryan, an ambitious businessman, purchased 335 acres along the Clifton gorge area and called these acres “Riverside Farm.”

It is tradition to hike on Saturday afternoon after lunch at Young’s Jersey Dairy. We could hike in the a.m. then head to Young’s for the afternoon.

Sidenote: Andrew Suddith will be attempting to establish a personal best of no injuries during three consecutive camping/canoeing/adventuring outdoor activities.

Legal disclaimer: This email and function is not endorsed by an PAC, Candidate, or Campaign Committee. This event is not sponsored or endorsed by any religion, church, church association or denomination. This is Bryan inviting his friends and their friends along for a camping trip full of pop, beef jerky, cold cereal, band aids, big fires and smores. Join me. You wont be sorry. We have yet to lose a kid! Well except for Doug Anderson’s kid last fall, but we found him before we came home.

Caleb, Becca and I are planning on being there Friday night only. What is the rain contingency (besides get wet) and the cost?

Rain contingency. The Suddith boys are going. Perhaps we should discuss a Saturday/Saturday night only gathering?
