I did it. My first 5 mile race. Apparently running is a lot like organic chemistry. If you don’t practice your skills you are likely to look stupid during the exam. But I digress, I ran this 5 mile race on Thanksgiving morning. 8:00 a.m. and 21 degrees F. Crazy running conditions.
It was a hard [...]

Today, Caleb, my oldest at age 8, and I ran the Springboro YMCA 5k. Funny enough, he was the youngest runner and I was the largest runner. He did great. His first mile was a sub 10 minute miler. Then he had two consecutive 11 mile runs. He had a great final time of 32:13. [...]

Joe from Hawaii writes:
Everyone always seems to want to know what’s on the iPod of an Olympic athlete. I’d say running the 1/2 marathon qualifies you. So, what do you say? What are you listening too as you run? What’s on your iPod?
Well Joe, a lot of time and attention goes into the details of [...]

I have been telling stories about the 1/2 marathon for a week. Yet, today, I realized that I hadn’t shared any here. My 4 fans deserve some of the stories.

one mile away from a long shot

So this weekend, yesterday to be exact, I ran 9 miles again. This time I cut over 30 seconds per mile from my time. That leaves one mile more for the goal. The reward, a Jeep that I can’t afford. Funny how that worked out huh.
Also..for a check in the victory column..I didnt cheat on [...]

The Endurance Sports Guy

I went to Endurance sports. Had to have my fly new kicks looked at. You see, I bought these sale rack Avias from DSW the other day and they were killing my feet. Apparently in the sport of distance running, healthy feet are a key to success. The Avia’s had this fancy pancy cantilever system. [...]

So. I haven’t posted in a while. Not witness relocation, just the perfect storm against blogging. In short, I started a new job this month, lost power for 6 days, bought new running shoes and took about a week off of running.
But..here is the update..I missed only one long run. It was supposed to be [...]
